Final Post

Hello everyone!!!!!!!!!!  Well, I made it........... I am past my first year!!!!   Annie here..... and doing my last post.  I hope you have enjoyed the adventures of my very first year on the planet.   I thought I would make a list of all the things I have learned so far.  Would you like that?  I thought you would!   Here goes......

 Annie' s rules to live by……

ALWAYS HAVE FUN

Play ball

Take good care of  your toys 

Be kind and gentle

If you are pack leader be nice to your group

Don’t eat too much

Don't stick your nose in where it doesn’t belong

Get up early

Believe in magic

Don’t be jealous of other dog’s stuff

Walk your humans every day 

Like yourself………MUTTS RULE  !!!!!  ha ha

Don't eat yucky smelling stuff

Don't roll in yucky smelling stuff - which leads directly to the next rule...

Learn to tolerate a bath

Learn how to communicate without speaking

Try new things

Learn how to behave and then work at it - see comment below   

Be curious but not nosey

Only bark when necessary

Love your humans

Make people laugh

Learn something new

and never forget to........

THE HARDEST THING FOR ME IS TO BE CALM OR AT LEAST CALM DOWN AND ACT CALM.  IT IS MY BIGGEST CHALLENGE.  MOM AND DAD SAY I AM A PERFECT GIRL WHEN IT IS THE THREE OF US BUT I “ACT CRAZY” WHEN I SEE OTHER PEOPLE OR OTHER ANIMALS……..  I MUST WORK ON THAT AND I TRY I REALLY DO…….I SIT MY BOTTOM DOWN……BUT IT SPRINGS RIGHT BACK UP…….YOU KNOW?

ONE YEAR OLD!!!!!!!!!

We celebrated yesterday since it was Sunday.

These are some of the birthday toys that I liked the best:

I had this doggie ice cream for my special day but I kept trying to eat the paper cup....

So mom removed the cup and put the ice cream in a bowl for me

I love antlers!!!!

We went to Petco and then up to the lake.  I also got a McDonalds hamburger!!!!   

It was a FANTABULOUS DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another place we walk is along the Savannah River area of the Augusta Canal.  There are SO many interesting smells here and they have a great place to walk.  I hope you like the pictures mom took on our walk yesterday.

Hey Everyone...........Annie here!!

How are ya doin'?   As you all know,  I am an upbeat, fun-luvin' pup but I need to tell you this:  I am tired of what mom and dad keep talking about.  I don't understand it but they talk about this A LOT.  Here are the words they use:  president, nation, washington, hillary, trump, clinton, donald, vote, worry, concern, frustrated, disappointed,   and one word I do know.........leader.   That one is easy because we talk about leader when we hike.  We take turns being Pack Leader.  Do you think this is the same thing as what they are talking about?  I LOVE being the leader.  I don't get to be leader very often but when I am, I am pretty sure it is  a lot more.....................................................................................................................................................

Lassie

Hey........hidee    HI.........Annie here!!!!!!!

Another long hike this morning.  Had a fabulous time!!

So, I have been wanting to ask if you ever watch Lassie on teevee?   Well, as you already know, I watch stuff when mom goes away.  I watched Lassie a few times and I love that show.   Mom says it is very old but I don't even really know what that means.   Guess what?  When mom and dad were younger and their son, Todd, was a little boy they all lived on a farm and had dogs just like Lassie.  Isn't that amazing?   

Mom found the very first show about Lassie on the computer.  I love to hear her bark - Lassie not mom  :-)  Anyway, she said that all of my fans can watch it too.  She says to go to U Toob and type in Lassie First Episode and it is in two parts.  It explains how Lassie came to live with Timmy.

Football and Water Bowls

OK   LET’S LIGHTEN UP AFTER THE LAST POST AND HAVE SOME…….YOU KNOW WHAT, RIGHT?   ………

F.U.N.

Have you ever played football?  I love football.   My dad bought one for me and I play with it every day.  What are  your favorite toys?  Sometimes I run so hard and get very thirsty.  Hey, this is interesting:  mom bought a huge concrete water bowl for me.  Dad set it up in the backyard.  They laughed and laughed when I first started to drink from it.  I don’t know what was so funny.  It is a little inconvenient where they placed it.  It is back between two chairs and toward a big fence.  I don’t want to hurt their feelings because they are so good to me but it seems to me it would be better to have it out in my play area.  I also don’t understand why humans have to have lots of names for things.  It is clearly a water bowl for me but mom calls it her infinity fountain.  Fancy name.

More Hiking

Hey Everyone........Annie here!

We hiked again this weekend.  It is not as hot now here in Georgia and the woods smelled different too.  We had a great time.  Here is something I saw that was very interesting.

We all took turns being Pack Leader.  When dad was Pack Leader mom said we were "Nascar hiking"....not sure what that means.

By the end of the hike my tongue was hanging out from all the FUN!

Just a reminder that my blog will be wrapping up on my 1 year birthday - Oct 31.  Mom and I have lots of fun ideas for my birthday month.  Can you believe I am almost ONE YEAR OLD????

Still HOT here in Georgia!!!!!!!

Hi ya'   my fun loving friends!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is very hot here in Georgia.  I have been watching mom take orange things she calls decor and ornamental pumpkins out of bags from the attic and then put them back again.  Humans are a curious bunch.  I believe they think too much.  Anyway, she keeps saying she wants to decorate with these things and talks of something called Fall. At first I was very confused because she had used that word before - like when I found myself on a tall wall and she was worried.  But, after thinking about this word for awhile,  I think it must have something to do with the weather because she is saying she can't bring herself to use these things when it is hot outside.  I am so glad I am not a human!  They don't just grab onto the fun - do they?

Speaking of fun, my dad got these things that are on my head at an event (whatever that means) at his work  and he let me play with them  The sun is very bright in Georgia.  Hey, it is kinda cool to look through these things.  Everything looks very different.  Maybe I should try to get mom to wear them.  Maybe she could see Fall with these on. What do you think?

Hey, Annie here........did you miss me?   Mom and Dad went out of town for a few days.   We are getting ready to go out so I only have a minute but didn't want you to think I forgot about you!   I KNOW  you have been having lots of FUN  ........right?


So, here is a picture of me being my nosey self.  Mom says I stick my nose in everything.  It is true - I am very curious.  How else will I learn?   Yes, that is soap-suds on my head :-)

Dr. Wheatley

Worms and Fried Pies

Hi.......it's me again - Annie!!!   More adventures to report!!!!

   Today we walked in a new place.  Here are some interesting  things I saw.  The first is called a WORM and it smelled weird.  The second is called a MUSHROOM  (remember I saw one of those before?) only this one looked different.  My dad said it looked like a FRIED PIE.  I guess his mom used to make them when he was a little boy back in Indiana.  I think Indiana is a place - like Georgia.  What are you finding on your adventures?  For those of you that have lived a LONG TIME like Dad  - do you know anything about fried pies?  I gotta go now because I have to go to the vet and stand on a big scale and then get a yummy treat !!  Catchya later!!   LAA

Longest Hike Ever!!!

Hi Everyone.......Annie  here   :-)   Are you having lots of fun???  Hope so!!


We have been doing a LOT of walking and also hiking through the woods.  It is one of my very favorite things to do right now!   Just to catch up........I have been to several new places and also played with some new doggie friends.  We have been going on lots of rides  and having fun adventures that my mom calls local.  


When we go up to the big woods near the lake we take stuff that dad carries in his backpack which he calls our supplies.  Mom pulled out  a round thing that I thought was a  new chew toy - wrong-    oops!    -  okay I am sorry!!  turns out it becomes a water bowl for me!  Good thing too because I was very thirsty and the lake water tastes funny.  The water poured from mom's bottle was so good. ahhhhh!  okay, okay .......more trail ahead!

Decisions Decisions!

Great News!!!!  Remember those big  things I saw at Wildwood Park that were so unfriendly to me?  I had learned their names are horses.  Mom says this  signpost means they are NOT allowed  here............... doing my doggie happy dance over that!!!
